FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you do not find the answer to your question below please contact us by phone or email
  • Will you cut a piece of plywood for me, if I bring it to you, and how much do you charge?

Yes, but because our shop is automated we do not stop a production line of an existing project; so you can drop off your material, and we will call you when it is cut. We charge a minimum of 1 hour of shop time no matter how small the material is or how few cuts there are.

  • I have a tree that fell in my yard; will you cut it into lumber for me?

No, Andy's Cabinets and Millwork is not a saw mill, and we do not have the equipment to do that. Our shop is set up to produce precision casework.

  • Do you re-face cabinets?

No, we have found out through experience that in most cases re-facing cabinets is just as expensive as replacing them with new ones; and aside from a fresh look you are not able to utilize the new space saving technology that is offered in the new cabinet lines available today.

  • Do you repair cabinets?

We do some cabinet repair work, but have put together several good local independent repairmen who specialize in cabinet repair. Because we are a commercial production shop, we are not able to respond quickly to repair work because our installers are scheduled out months in advance, so we often find that our local contacts are able to respond faster and provide a competitive rate.

  • Do you make custom cabinets?

Yes, Andy's Cabinets and Millwork Inc. is able to custom build cabinets based on your plans. If you provide us with the details of the project we will provide you with an estimate.

NOTE: When requesting pricing for custom cabinets, understand that these are not comparable to buying prefabricated cabinets from one of the hardware stores, and that the pricing will not even be close. Always compare apples to apples when pricing cabinets from multiple companies.

  • Do you restore furniture?

No, restoring furniture is a detailed and tedious process and our commercial schedule does not afford us the time to do furniture restoration.

  • Will you build a cabinet to match my existing cabinets, and match the finish?

We will build a cabinet to the specific dimensions needed but matching a door and the finish is very difficult. We do not guarantee that we will be able to find a door that matches exactly. Also because of the nature of wood and its disposition to darkening or mellow with age and exposure to UV light, the finish on your existing cabinets is not the same as when it was made. Even if you were to use the same stain the finishes would look different when compared side by side.

  • Will you paint or stain my unfinished cabinet?

    No.

  • Do you have all plywood construction?

Yes, we are able to build with many different materials to meet the needs of your project; even our pre-fabricated cabinet lines offer an “all plywood construction” option.

  • Do you make counter tops?

Andy's Cabinets and Millwork is able to produce laminate counter tops with a square edge. As a service we are able work with the various local stone and solid surface companies and manage that portion of your project so that you only have to deal with us.

  • What are your square foot / linear foot price for cabinets and counter tops?

We do not provide a square foot price or linear foot price for estimates of quick quotes. There are too many variable when it comes to giving a price for cabinets and counter tops; wood species, finish type, construction type, door style, quantity of doors, quantity of drawers, drawer box material, hardware type. We will only provide complete quotes.

  • Do I need to make an appointment to meet with a project manager?

An appointment is the best way to guarantee a meeting with a project manager; however you can walk in and see our showroom, and if one of our project managers is available they will be happy to meet you.

  • Do you offer financing?

Not at this time, but we are currently working on acquiring a program to provided financing or credit line.
